Help! 7.5 month old will only eat at night (EBF)

My little girl is 7 going on 8 months old. She's exclusively breast fed and gets very angry if we try her with a bottle. She has decided that she definitely doesn't want to eat during the day (it's 3.30pm and she's very reluctantly breastfed once today otherwise has screamed at me to get off her). She does sometimes take solids but at the moment she's also screaming away purée and smashing up finger food and throwing it on the floor.

Problem is, she makes up for it at night. At night she'll wake to feed between every 45 minutes to an hour, and will stay on the boob for between 30 and 45 minutes each time. I've tried replicating the same conditions during the day (dark, calm, quiet) but she's having none of it.

Any suggestions to get out of this vicious cycle? Has anyone else tried going cold turkey at night? I just imagine she'll scream the entire time.

Sounds like you've got a serious case of reverse cycling! It doesn't always happen but there are things you can do.

This article from Kellymom had some good tips and I always going that mine fed better after we worn them out with something like swimming or playgroup.

I experienced similar, unfortunately I found it only really corrected itself after a bought of illness! Another friend of mine said hers just ended up passing and another tried dream feeding during naps/after bed. You could also limit feeding to after a certain amount of time? Fingers crossed for you

Thank you both! Strangely we all had a tummy bug yesterday and she only wanted 1 night feed because I think she was too tired otherwise and needed rest and recovery! How strange.
