Projectile vomit

Hi all
Hope you can help. I'm having issues with reflux in my newborn (she is 4 weeks old). I am telling my midwife and health visitor she is being sick after every feed and just told 'it's normal'. I am exclusively breastfeeding her only.

This morning DD literally projectile vomited all over our sofa.
The colour is just creamy/ white looking. No blood or green.

I'm very concerned, she has never done this before. But does tend to be sick quite a lot (not possets, a bit more). Anyone have experience?

Have to disagree that it's normal! My DD had reflux from early days too. Do you keep her upright after feeds? That can help. Could there also be a possibility of CMPA? What are her nappies like?
My daughter has both. She was initially put on gaviscon for reflux but that didn't really do much, I would highly recommend asking for liquid omeprazole (not the dispersible tablet) which you give in a syringe. Omeprazole was a game changer for me! Have you spoke to your GP? I would do that, midwife and HV can't prescribe anything and tbh they sound quite unsupportive xx

If the projectile vomiting increases, she is sick and then still seems hungry, she is dehydrated or not gaining weight then get her urgently checked for pyloric stenosis.

@DappledOliveGroves

Well the thing is she went straight to sleep after the vomit and she isn't crying for more food. I took temperature and it's 36.5 so normal.

She is also gaining weight but haven't had her weighed since 31st July.

Will keep my fingers crossed. One thing I have learned is always trust your mum instinct and don't let anyone make you feel like you're being an 'anxious first time mum' which people have a habit of doing!! Keep us posted xx

When DD was 6 weeks, she had a day where she projectile vomited a few times, which wasn't like her at all. She also didn't seem to be feeding quite as well (although as I'm breastfeeding it was hard to know for sure), but didn't have a fever or anything. I ended up calling 111 who sent me to A&E, and she had a UTI which needed 48 hours of IV antibiotics and then oral ones at home.

Obviously baby vomit can be very normal, but if you feel like something isn't right, I'd get it checked.
