(Stoopid Question Alert) Can teething cause babies to go off their food/bottles?

My usually angelic ds has been very grumpy today and has taken very little at his last 2 feeds. Could it be sore gums? We have had drooling/fingers in mouth for weeks now but no sign of teeth... and nearly always takes good feeds. Any experiences to share?
TIA

Yes my dd2 is 20m and teething with some lower eye teeth at the moment. he usually eats us out of house and home but as usual when teething yesterday he just wanted milk.

This is a real shock to me as ds is always such a happy chappy. I feel things are going to get worse before they get better! He's 6mo btw.

My 6 month old is the same at the moment. Is usually a really gud eater but last 2 weeks has been awful. I can tell she is hungry as she opens her mouth but cries when everything touches her gums. Thankfully the last 2 days she seems better. Apparently you can get something to give them beffore feeding to numb the gums. Havnt got around to trying it yet.
