Breastfeeding anxiety?!

Hi all, I am hoping I can get some help. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter 6 days ago.

3/4 days ago my milk came in. I have been exclusively breastfeeding my daughter only. Is it common to have a feeling of dread and anxiety as soon as I start feeding her? It disappears after Sad I can't explain the feeling.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, it's normal, it goes. Just ride it out and try and remind yourself it's 'just' hormones and not real feelings.

Congratulations on your lovely new baby ❤️

I think in the early weeks it is completely normal to feel very weird. Just keep an eye on it that the feelings are not constant or getting progressively worse - but a bit of up and down is to be expected.

I'll be honest - becoming a mother is completely headfucking! Very good luck and have a Brew

It's normal, albeit somewhat rare I think. I had it quite a lot with first DD and have it intermittently when feeding DD2. With DD1 it's when the let down started - I'd have a wave of doom come over me. This time round it's when DS latches on, before she even sucks properly - I just feel disquiet rather than doom but still a bit on edge. It passes rapidly.

@WorkEventing wow! I didn't know it had a name. The symptoms are very sadly what I am experiencing. I am hoping the feeling goes otherwise I don't think I can continue breastfeeding.

Thank you @carefullycourageous no truer words spoken there. Becoming a mother is fantastic but a headfuck.
