EbF baby starting nursery

Hello, my little girl is starting nursery in a few weeks time when she is just over a year old.she is currently EBF, feeds to sleep for naps ( trying to wean this but it's difficult!). What happens then when she is at nursery? I am thinking I can feed her in the morning and I the evening but during the day -- just hope for the best?! She is eating solids well. How should I prep her for missing the day feeds at nursery?

How old is she? Both of mine started nursery at 12 months and we're breastfed as well as solids. They fed to sleep etc.

They were fine, they didn't sleep well for the first few months as they wanted more milk but that improved, I just fed them morning and night and they ate at nursery. I tried expressing milk for both of them but they weren't interested.

I used to send DD in with expressed milk, but once she got over 12 months I stopped and she just had cows milk. It was never a problem.

She also fed to sleep and only napped on me, at nursery she went down fine in a cot. Nurseries have magic ways, and children are different to how they are at home.

@NerrSnerr she will starting nursery when she is just over a year old.she rejected bottles a few months ago so I'm not sure if I should try expressing again, I also not keen for her to take milk in bottles now that she is older

I had similar situation but with a childminder. DC was a bit annoyed at being left and not having milk during the day, but soon got used to it. Child care people have special magical powers to get children to sleep.

If she’s eating solids then she’s no longer EBF and will be fine. Just feed her morning and evening, she will be fine with cows milk in a cup at nursery otherwise

@ShirleyPhallus gosh yes I wasn't thinking 😅been using the ebf term for her for yonks!

I really wouldn't bother introducing a bottle now, especially if she's been reluctant so far, there's really no need Wink

Both of mine were ebf. When I went back to work at 9 and 10 months, they were fed morning, on pick up and before bed. If they needed it when I was at work they just had a cup of cow's milk. She'll soon get used to having naps without you there. If you have a DP/DH it might be worth going out at nap times on their days off and letting them get used to having a nap without you there.

Have you thought of doing some gentle night weaning before you go back to work?
