Can you put a perfect prep machine made bottle in the fridge and reheat later?

I cannot find anything in the manual or online about it!

Official advice would say no, but official advice also condemns the perfect prep. Personally I would put it in the fridge and reheat but only once.

No, I used the prep machine but I wouldn't do that.

...Water. I'm not sure if that helps at all. What is it that you are trying to work around?

Hmm what’s the need? If home we use PP (quicker than warming up a fridge-cold bottle, that’s for sure!). Out and about we replicate what the PP does using a flask of hot water and bottle of cold.

The hot shot of the PP kills the bacteria in the formula, so I guess once it’s dead it’s dead. But I don’t see the point for fridgeing a bottle?

The point of the perfect prep is to make and feed no hanging around. Are you pre-making for a day out or something?

BertieBotts · 18/06/2022 12:08

I would not recommend that as the advice states that the hot shot is likely not hot enough to sterilise the powder.

That's pretty low risk if you're feeding the bottle immediately (hence the point of the TT machine) for a baby over 4 weeks old, but it wouldn't be a good idea to let that bottle sit around as any bacteria will then have chance to multiply.

Make the bottle with boiling water if you're wanting to store it before use, that's the best way to do it.

Ok thanks all. I was thinking about when we are short on time and leaving the house for a few hours and need a bottle to take with us. I understand that from the kettle is safer. Thanks all
