Novogel breast pads - any experience?

Has anyone used these for bleeding nipples? My left nipple has a small crack around the edge which has not healed in 3 days, I started using a nipple shield then but it seems to have reduced my supply on that side, baby only feeds for 5 min and then falls asleep

So I got a pair of novogel pads - can anyone explain how they used these and did they continue to feed while using these. How long did the nipples take to heal?

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering-that sounds really sore!

I'm not sure what they are either-I just looked them up and I still can't work it out. Are they hydrogel or Jell-O net? Both hydrogel and jelonet are proven to be one of the few things that really helps to heal nipple damage.

To truly heal your nipple getting optimal positioning & attachment so the best solution. It's true that shields can complicate things too.

There is some info here summarising research on what works & why:

Thank you, I did have the same thing with my previous dcs and the soreness settles down eventually, I think they just learn to latch more deeply or their mouths get bigger!

so I’ve been wearing them for a couple of days now and they did heal the cut within 24 hours.. irs still tender though and at risk of splitting again with every feed so I’m just spending time trying to get baby to latch deeply. So it’s a work in progress but the novogel pads have been amazing, highly recommend these. They’re moist wound pads so they kind of stick to the nipple, I just take them off for a feed and replace after feed. I replace one piece a day.

for anyone else reading this, top tip is to cut them into pieces to stick onto the wound area, the pad itself is very large so will last ages if used like this
