Weaning from breastmilk to formula

My daughter is 7 months old and I want to start weaning her from breastmilk and giving her formula instead. I might sound crazy but it seems so complicated to me?
Can anyone please explain formula feeding to me as if I'M the baby?😭 I know that I want to start adding formula to my milk in a bottle and increase the amount gradually until she is drinking just formula.

•I've read that you need wait 30minutes for the kettle to cool after boiling??? She's used to me taking 0.2 seconds to whip out a boob so that can't go down well...
•She breastfeeds 5-6 times a day and a couple of times at night but Cow&Gate says she'd only need 3 bottles?? How many would she need during the transition?
•Is it true that a whole tin only lasts a week? That's bloody expensive!
I'm a little confused and overwhelmed so if anyone has any advice it would be very appreciated!:)

firstly just get her used to drinking breast milk out a bottle thats the first step.Make sure you wash the bottles in unscented washing up liquid as milk has a delicate taste and its easy to make it taste soapy.

Once they are used to and happy having breastmilk off the bottle then start introducing formula.Use ready made at first and just add a little formula to breast milk before heating. If they are happy after a few days add a little more formula. If they are happy a few mores drop your breast milk a little and add more formula. The switch will happen gradually.

Now yes ready made expensive but once they are used to it and on only formula you can move to tins.I recommend aldi baby formula much cheaper and mine was very happy.

Just feed her milk as she needs each child is different

the kettle i would measure the right amount of water and shake the bottle under the cold tap.Just for a minute then add the powder and shake again under tap till right temp

For trips out just take a pre sterilised bottle with lid and a ready made bottle

You can make milk up and store it in the back of the fridge for 24 hours.

Or you can use a perfect prep. Or a homemade version where you boil the water, pour a few ounces into a bottle, add formula and shake, then add the remaining pre-measured ounces from previously boiled and cooled water.

And ignore what the tin says and just go with what your baby wants. The guidelines on the tins are very outdated. Your baby will soon show you how much she wants to drink at a time and how often, and then you'll be better equipped to guess how much she'll want per day.

Usually you would wean a baby off of formula and on to full fat cows at 12m, so I'm wondering is it worth the hassle of introducing formula just to swap it out 4 or 5m later?
Might be easier to just wait it out with the bm?
Could not bother with bottles at all and give bm in a sippy cup or doidy cup?

We have a Nuby RapidCool for top-up formula feeds for our little one, who's primarily breastfed so isn't used to waiting. It's been a great help for us so you might want to look into it to see if it could help you?

At that age DD1 when through at least one and half tins a week. Having had a ff and a bf baby I would say unless there is a specific reason not to I would go for combi feeding if you can.

Thanks guys, and thanks @rosydreams for the details!
Yeah I know it is a bit of a faff to introduce formula so late but as much as I enjoy breastfeeding and all the bonding, it's had a huge impact on my mental health:( She's refused the bottle her whole life and suddenly taken to it this week so I'm going to attempt formula before she rejects it again!
@Duracellbunnywannabe I will be keeping a few breastfeeds if I can!🤞
