Any suggestions to help relieve my 11 day old baby?

Tried the usual burping techniques and different positions. They do stops after 5-10 mins but they are really strong and I can feel then shake her whole body!! She gets them very often (As she did antenatally)

Any tips?

Our son is the same. We find just keeping him upright for a bit after a feed can prevent them, but they still come sometimes. We read that they don't really upset the little one as much as it seems but they really do shake through their little bodies. The key is not letting them lie down with them cos that's when they are sick!

Unfortunately nothing much you can do about it - you’re burping LO thoroughly so it’s not a trapped burp. I found the hiccups stop when the baby falls asleep. Try not to worry about it. It would bother an adult but babies don’t really seem to notice!

If you do have trouble burping her, Dentinox colic drops can help. We found them more effective than Infacol.

Is she bottle fed? If so, try a slower teat as she may be drinking it too quickly.
If BF, try some infacol or keeping her upright after a feed for a while x

My baby has hiccups all the time too. If you bottle feed, give her a bottle when she starts or try with a dummy. I noticed that sucking really helps, in about 30 seconds the hiccuping stopes.

Breastfed

I think my let down is a bit enthusiastic (to say the least) so she takes in extra air when sucking and she's only 14 days now and she learning the suck and breathing routine.

Keeping her upright has been helpful and getting her back on the breast is good too. It doesn't hugely upset her, just annoying when she wants to be asleep.

Thanks for your advice all x

If it’s stopping her dropping off, I found my baby napped really well in a sling (remember TICKS), even with hiccups. Meant I couldn’t nap but at least my hands were free so I could make a drink or a snack! Regarding a powerful letdown, you can try lying back so the baby is almost face down on the boob. Means gravity is against the flow and can help slow everything down.
