Baby had tongue tie when he was born which was snipped.

Breast fed initially but he just seemed to be on the boob all the time and never satisfied but was always being sick.

GP gave gaviscon which seemed to help. Eventually gave up breastfeeding and put him on the bottle.

We both seemed a lot happier once we done this, but he literally downed the bottles so kept upping his feeds. He was doing 9oz easily so kept him at that and he was going every 4hrs ish. He burps well but is very windy so you have to keep going back to burp long after he's fed.

Anyway, the past few days he's been very sicky so we've upped his gaviscon to 1 sachet a feed due to the bottle volume but it hasn't really helped.

I'm thinking of reducing his feeds down to a 7 and going every 3 hrs. Already reduced to 8 which isn't made a difference.

What do you think?

Is he in any discomfort when he's sick and windy?

Reducing the volume and feeding more often could help. I'd also try adding Dentinox to his bottles.

He's such a happy and content baby he never seems in any discomfort or pain. I often think he's got a bit of trapped wind and that's what's making him sick so I'm going to try infacol tomorrow too.

Will look at your suggestion too as I've not heard of that. Thank you.

Careful with infacol, my dairy was always a very sucky baby but infacol made it soooo much worse, it relaxes the muscles in their stomach to let any wind out, but this meant she couldn’t keep her milk down at all and would throw up her entire feed!

Once they’re 6 months+ and can sit up independently the sickness does reduce.

We used to keep her upright for min 20 mins after a feed to reduce sickness.

Sorry terrible typos “My daughter was a very sicky baby”

Thank you - good to note about the infacol.

Yes, I'm really careful and keep him upright on me for 20mins then put him in his bouncer for a bit so he doesn't usually lie flat for a good hour after a feed.
