How much milk for a 3 year old?

How much milk should a 3 year old be consuming daily?

She has her usual 3 square meals a day, with 5/6oz of milk very early in the morning when she first wakes up and then the same amount just before bed.

Is this too much? Any alternatives anybody can recommend please?

Thank you

Think at age 1-3 350mg of calcium is recommended and that would be around 2-3 portions of dairy or around 300/350mls of milk. If its not affecting food intake then I dont see why you'd need to change the amount you offer.

Is she having cows milk or equivalent (not formula) In a cup?

Kids are supposed to consume dairy so if her BMI is healthy and it doesn’t stop her being hungry for meals then I wouldn’t worry. My 4YO has a small cup of milk with her breakfast and again with dinner.

I read online that I'm supposed to give semi-skimmed (green lid) milk only? So that's what I've been giving her, twice a day, once in the morning, once in the evening with dinner/before bed, 5/6oz each time.

Semi skimmed is perfect for that age, presuming the milk is in a cup and in the case of bedtime teeth are brushed afterwards, it all sounds fine!

Semi skimmed is ok from age 2. If you wanted to give full fat thats ok too. Full fat milk isn't that high in fat anyway

Semi skimmed milk DC5 has 200ml at breakfast and 200ml before bed. Also a milk portion at school. Plus cheese and yogurt during the day.

He also has 3 square meals.

Healthy and sporty.

My two (5 and 3) both have a cup of soya milk every morning and before bed.

I loved milk as a child and would have it as my main drink in the day. I also had warm milk before bed every night.
