Feeding aversion

Is anyone able to give experiences of feeding aversion?

DC is 4 months and ebf. I’m starting to really find every feed irritating and almost like I just want to pull them off mid-feed. I didn’t plan or want to bottle feed but I am increasingly tempted to slowly introduce them and make the switch around 6 months.

If this is something that is likely to pass, I will stick it out! In the grand scheme of things, I know that this is a minimal portion of their life but I can’t help but feel I should keep going, even if it’s making me miserable Sad

I was similar. Hated each feed. Moves to bottles and would actively enjoy feeds .
I have plenty of milk no issues in that way. Personally I don’t think in this scenario the benefits outweigh the risks but it’s your call.

Thank you for replying and the insight. It’s good to hear it was a positive switch for you.

Yes, the benefits at the moment feel minimal and spending time dreading each feed is tainting time with DC. It’s not painful, cluster feeding is not as often and so in theory is fine - I just can’t stand the feeling any longer. I feel actively sick with each latch/let down.

If you feel that awful I would start swapping one feed over, leave it a couple of weeks and then swap another abs then just keep going like that until they're fully ff. doing it this way gets them used to the new higher volumes they'll have to drink and it will reduce your risk of mastitis.
