Should i be worried with this? I always try to get her to re latch if i hear clicking noises as was told its making her breath in too much air? But most the time it isnt painful when theres clicking noise. Its just sometimes it can take agea to get a latch without any noise 😭

Has she been assessed for a tongue tie? The clicking is one of the things that I noticed the most with my son

Oh she sounds adorable.

It could be that you have a slightly forceful letdown and perhaps she's jerking back a bit, it could be that the tie has reattached, it could just be that she's a lazy eater.

If she's gaining well and you both feel comfortable then it's probably the last one, but if you can manage to get to a local support group or speak to an LLL consultant then they may be able to help more.

Clicking is a sign of a poor latch.

Do your nipples come out compressed or lipstick shaped. You might benefit from some f2f support to tweak the latch. Does your hospital have an infant feeding team? They’re a fab resource x

Get her tongue checked again

Tongue tie can recur so I'd also get it checked again. Her latch isn't good.

Yes, sometimes tongue ties regrow or haven’t been cut fully. I would get a 2nd opinion.

I found this Video from YouTube so helpful with mine! I didn't successfully breastfeed my first one, but did for 20 months with my middle and 22 months with my youngest! Seriously, watch it all the way through, and get your partner to watch it too, it's helpful for them to help you.

Hope the link works

Good luck!

I had this with DS. Clicking is a sign of a poor latch.
