Restarting breastfeeding after two weeks?

Is it possible? Baby is 4 weeks old on Saturday and I stopped pumping two weeks ago.

Hmm.... unlikely. Your body only makes what your baby takes. I'm sure someone else will come along. Have you asked a breastfeeding support group? Plenty online.

It could be, but you need to feed baby at the breast as much as you can, pump in between abs basically snuggle with your baby as much as you can.

You need to feed both sides then supplement with a bottle afterwards. Try pumping in between feeds too. No guarantees but I had milk a couple of months after quitting (older)

You can, but you will probably need help from a lactation consultant, IBCLC's are the best! Best of luck

Yes you can - https://breastfeeding.support/tips-for-relactation/

Might take effort (in terms of putting baby to breast as much as possible, and pumping lots in between), but definitely possible. Get some expert support (could start by calling National Breastfeeding Helpline 0300 300 0123 - free). Some women don't get back up to exclusively bf (some do, but just managing expectations!), but maybe that doesn't matter to you Smile

Remember that sometimes adoptive mothers, female partners of women who have given birth, etc choose to induce lactation - and that's from nothing, whereas you have the definite advantage that your body is already set up for lactation from the pumping you did at the beginning Smile

Thank you all. I’ll get my pump back out and will give it go. I last pumped a week and a half ago so hopeful I can try x

Look up 'relactation' on the kellymom website. Lots of great advice. Can you also invest in a hospital grade pump? I rent a medela symphony for £47 - it so much more effective than a home pump.
