Going back to work and BFing

My DD is 9 months old, will be 10 mo when I go back to work. She BFs about 5 times in the day and we cosleep, so she BFs once or twice at night. As we're doing BLW she'll take a few solids and sometimes has sips of water to go with her meals.

My question is, will I have to express BM for her? Or will my supply adapt to being fed around my part time work hours (I'll be working about 3 days a week)

Has she ever taken bm other than direct from the breast?

If you express milk for her, it will keep up your supply and probably her interest in it. If you don't, she will probably either take other fluids during the day and your supply will dwindle (but not necessarily die out) or she will feed for England when you ARE around, which will mean you may find yourself expressing a bit down the sink, for comfort when you are at work. If you are working 3 days, you will still be available to feed her 4 days, + evenings/nights right? That's still the majority of the time.

In other words, I hope the above helps you to choose.

She's not had a bottle since she was about 4 or 5 months old, but will drink from a doidy cup...

Think I'll give expressing a try

Have a look at Maveta's current thread....she's in the same boat so it should help you out.

it's up to you on the EBM front.one of myfriends went back to work at 6months and her dd never had any milk whilst she was away, she just fed longer in the morning, evening and during night to top up. your supply will adapt to your dd needs.
