Cmpa and reflux

Advice needed....

We thought my baby had terrible GORD at 4 weeks, the paediatrician gave us omperzole and said if it doesn’t work then try cutting dairy from my diet for 2 weeks. The omperzole didn’t make a difference so I did cut dairy abs it made a huge difference, no screaming or being sick after feeds. We then stopped the omperzole but symptoms came back! So we went back on that, I then tried dairy for one night and again all symptoms Anne back. So we think he has cmpa and reflux! Is this common to have both? He still has hiccups after every feed, bubbles at mouth all the time.
The GP said he’s to young to get tested ( he’s 11 weeks now ) and wants me to carry on dairy free for another 4 weeks . This is fine however I really want to move on from breastfeeding by Xmas, but I’m so confused as to which formula he would have? We tried aptimal pepti 1 weeks and weeks ago but that made him projectile vomit!!?? Any advice? Or is breast milk the best for a cmpa and reflux baby? I just don’t want to be dairy free for months and months and want to be able to leave him for a night away in December.

Yes both mine had CMPA and reflux. I bf them both, still feeding the second at 14 months. My eldest was prescribed nutramigen to top up with and my youngest neocate (she has much worse CMPA).
The milk isn’t very pleasant once mine weren’t hungry they stopped taking it. It has to be made up slightly differently to normal formula e.g not with a perfect prep, it can’t be stored made up and there’s no ready made option.
You may find a soya allergy develops as well. It did in mine due to use of nutramigen which contains soya.
I have found it easy to be dairy free although I miss cheese and continuing bf has been the best option for my children. You could express milk and freeze it ready for your night away as you have plenty of time to build up a stash

My dd had silent reflux (omperazole plus ranitidine) until 2 yes and cmpa until 3urs. They often go together unfortunately. She was combo fed (was dropping weight so had to add formula) so I was dairy free for a year and she had nutramigen milk on prescription. there's a few different fake milks the gp can prescribe. They all taste vile though. Some people add a little vanilla essence (alcohol free version) or nesquick if they refuse to even try it and then gradually reduce it out as obviously it's not good to be giving them that!
