dd is v nearly 6 months,i have been feeding her on demand since birth.
i think im going to carry on bf her,i feed dd upto 20/30 times a day
i hope i will not have to feed her that frequently after 6 months

how often, would you say,i will be feeding dd? after 6 months do most people drop it down to two or one feed a day.

Well, my dh is uneasy about it... or at least will be, when ds gets to about a year. He's less uneasy than he used to be, but I can see the pressure to wean will ramp up as ds gets older and older.

Dh has already said (and only been half joking) that he thinks it could be "warping" (yes really) for a child to be able to remember breastfeeding.

Yes dh because breasts are sexual objects only aren't they and therefore breastfeeding is some kind of incest, or after "a certain age" it becomes so, clearly. Whereas giving ds breast milk from another animal... now there's nothing weird about that is there?

I thought my DH was happy with me still breastfeeding our 15 month old.

But when I mentioned this thread, he just qualified his 'Of course I am happy for you to feed our daughter' with an aside 'but it would be creepy to be still doing it when she is 2 years old'

Not sure why he thinks 15 months is great and 24 months is wrong ?

Even though I asked my DH's opinion on this, as long as our nursing relationship works we will continue. Unless DH wants to start settling her at night sucessfully with no working breasts...LOL

My DD is 14 months and still feeds about four times a day and then once during the night, twice if she's teething/sick.

In terms of other people's reactions, I've been decidedly underwhelmed. I've only ever had one person roll their eyes, everyone else takes one look at my daughter and says how gorgeous she is and that's it. I don't think people notice TBH and I say upfront if anyone asks about her that I'm still nursing her and aside from a few curious ladies who have asked how long you can go on feeding her while pregnant, everyone just smiles and seems to accept it.

Either that or they think I'm a major league freak and are just legging it before I offer them a nipple

Don't care which it is, TBH, if it's a problem for them, it's their problem, not mine.

PMSL whomoved 'before I offer them a nipple'. Spat out my lunch to be more accurate!
