DH watched me put the lid on the milk bottle after I expressed this evening - lid was in our milton steriliser bucket. I washed my hands but didn't dry them (as I figured I'd be touching a wet-with-milton thing anyway, and always conscious hand towels could be germy), grabbed the lid out of the bucket and shook it really hard. The topless bottle of milk was next to me.
My husband is concerned that this shaking motion caused droplets to land inside the breastmilk bottle, and that they are either:
a) drops of milton
b) drops of warm tap water from my hands, which wouldn't be sterile.
He thinks this milk needs discarding (and that I need to dry my hands on a towel and shake the milton off further away from the milk bottle in future). Do I actually need to throw it away? We were hoping to use it tomorrow evening so I could nip out!
