7 week old terrible latch

I’ve struggled from day one with my 7 week old daughter. She’s my second child and after some initial latching issues with my son I went on to feed him for 15 months. However, this time it doesn’t seem to be getting easier at all. She was checked for TT in week one, it was borderline so I had it divided anyway just in case. Since then I’ve seen two lactation consultants, watched countless videos, been to a breastfeeding support group, had cranial osteopathy done on her after being told she had so much jaw tightness she wasn’t able to open her mouth wide enough and there’s still no improvement. She’s gaining weight and having lots of wet and dirty nappies but I’m at such a loss. She’s also caught my son’s cold and cough so I’m sure the congestion isn’t helping but I don’t see how that would negatively impact her already not so great latch. I feel like I’ve got nowhere else to turn, nobody else that can help me or support me but I really don’t want to stop as I know how great it can be.

Did anyone else feel this way at 7 weeks and when did you notice an improvement? Do I just need to wait for her to get bigger?

Is it causing you pain? Because from what I've read (very new to BF as a FTM) even if it doesn't look right, if it feels ok and they're gaining weight and having a good number of wet and dirty nappies then there's nothing to worry about.

Yes, I'll echo the above poster and ask if pain is the issue? Or something else?

Hello, thanks for your replies.

It’s not excruciating pain but uncomfortable pinching which I know isn’t right and she’ll easily slip off during a feed. I’m hoping in the next couple of weeks as she grows she’ll be able to open wider as I don’t want to deal with the faff of bottle feeding. Breastfeeding is far more convenient!

Hopefully, like you say, she'll just grow into it. If not I have heard TT can "come back", again no experience but could be worth looking into if things don't improve?
