More milk or not?

So, bit of a long story. Our 3 week old is a milk guzzler and we've been giving him 4oz for around 1 week now (much to the Health Visitors dismay) however, he was constantly looking for milk so, we felt it right to up his milk intake. It would seem now, he's looking for even more so, we were thinking of upping him to 5oz but not sure if this would be over feeding him? He has already been struggling to do poops 💩 😕 (1 every couple of days) so, not sure if we would be making it worse?
Just looking for a bit of advice before getting another row off the HV 🙄😂.

Are you sure he is looking for milk? My DS liked to suck to distract he'd terrible constipation.
Have you tried a soother.
I thought he wanted more.

Does he take a dummy?
Worth popping it straight in once he's finished.
Also any reflux signs? My DS had silent reflux and basically sucking/drinking milk helps soothe it.

I'll be honest...I feel like I don't really know 🤦🏼‍♀️ Our Health Visitor has really thrown me off and made me feel like, I don't know what I'm doing. I think I know but, I'm second guessing everything.

He's not too keen on dummy yet. We're still trying him with it but, he spits it out often. Cheeky monkey 🐒

I would keep trying the dummy or get another kind. Just place your finger gently on it till he gets a good sucking grasp on it.
My DS loved the MAM ones and didn't take to any other.
You know your baby op but I do feel 5oz is a lot for his age and if he's looking for more again I feel it's not actually milk he's wanting.
If the dummy doesn't work, just get up have a cuddle and walk around.

I had a thread around January about this for dd2. I was combination feeding and she was taking a massive amount of milk, I'm talking double the guidelines and breast fed as well.

Look for signs of silent reflux, grunting, straining, generally uncomfortable. The milk soothes the burning so they look for more. Try a dummy as suggested. Once you have fed keep upright or try tiger in tree hold, rubbing back, use dummy. See if that helps.

Ultimately I was told many many times I could not over feed her but she was actually in pain rather than hungry. Sad

Thanks for your tips!
I'm now thinking reflux - he does have some of those symptoms! Will need to do some reading up on how to combat that 💪
