No, carry on feeding her and doing what you do. Your milk will give her immunity. Be careful about washing your hands before touching her, etc. How old is she?

robinredbreast · 02/12/2007 19:09

thanks nab

dd is 5 months

do you think its best to bf direct or express? maybe the antibodies are higher when its fresher?

ill do that bing more vigilent about hand washing ,great tip

Just feed her naturally. Why make extra work for yourself. If she is 5 months before she gets her first cold you have done well.

MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 02/12/2007 19:13

If you're with her most of the time then she will prob get the cold anyway. You're right that bm is the best thing for her, she may want to feed more because she feels miserable.

I think DH taking her would help you more as you could get some rest. Sympathies, we all have stinking colds here and it is horrible...

NAB3littlemonkeys · 02/12/2007 19:13

Feed her on demand as well as she will need the fluids.

robinredbreast · 02/12/2007 19:24

oh thanks yep dd is now 5 months and has only had one day of the snuffles,no other illnesses at all so your right, that is great

i feed her on demand anyway but thanks for taking the time to reply to me

if i feel rough tomorrow, maybe ill have a babymoon with her !is she a bit old for that?please say no lol

If she is happy to stay in bed and have a babymoon then she isn't too old. I would take that as a sign she isn't feeling 100% so lots of rest and fluids (breast milk for her) is what you both need.

Get well soon. Our dd2 is 16 weeks and on her 3rd cold (caught from dd1!)

robinredbreast · 02/12/2007 20:09

awwww. get well soon too to your dd2

if dd wants to we are gonna have a chill out day big time!
