Please help - constipated newborn??

My son is 19 days old and b/f. I have a fast let-down and he rarely feeds for much longer than 10 minutes, but after a ropey start (c-section, milk in late, lost 13% of birth weight) we were doing ok - made it back to birth weight and even starting to get the odd dimple.
But now he hasn't had a poo since - 4am on Saturday (it's now 4pm on Sunday). He's continuing to feed and to wee normally; NHS 24 said to leave it until Monday morning and then take him to the GP if nothing has happened - can anyone reassure me that this is ok/has happened to them? He doesn't seem to be in huge amounts of pain, although he's clearly in some discomfort when he tries to poo. B/f babies aren't supposed to get constipated, are they?
If anyone out there has had this I'd be really grateful for your advice/experience.
TIA

there's another thread on this from last week with loads of good replies but can't remember where.

I would just take him along tomorrow morning to be checked out if there's no poo tonight.

My two both went for a while on occasions and then filled the nappy like a huge explosion that came out the sides, went up and over there tummy etc!

Try perhaps letting him lie on his tummy on a rug or blanket for a good half an hour to see if that does the trick. He might have wind that's blocking him up a bit. A bit of kicking around with his legs and on his front might help.

Bfed babies often don't poo for days because bmilk is so perfect that it is mostly digested. What is the texture when he does poo>?

My ds used to do this then produce a poo explosion - just like luciemule!

Remember as well that babies often seem to be straining and go red in the face while producing really soft poos - I think it's because the muscles that push it out aren't very well developed yet.

Thanks for these - his poo has been normal, mustardy stuff. I'll go and look for last week's thread. I'm just worried cos he's so little; the books all say he should have 2-4 a day until about 6 weeks or so.
