Steriliser advice

We are using MAM bottles and found the self-sterilising feature really handy until it killed our microwave. The condensation from the process causes the microwave to cut out. Anyone else had this problem?

I have a cold water steriliser too but I love how you can build the bottles once out of the microwave and leave them until needed. Is this possible to do with a cold water steriliser? I know the bottles can stay in the water for 24 hrs but can I take the parts out, build the bottle and then keep for 24 hrs until needed?

I guess you could? It's been sterilised just as it would have been in a steam steriliser. I would be unsure about having those little droplets of Milton in every bottle you give. I know it's safe and the advice is a few droplets are ok, but I would still be unsure about that.

I had the same with the MAM bottles and ended up just using the steam steriliser for them as you would an Avent. Bit fiddly getting all the bits back in all the time but they're great bottles!

I've been using the cold water steriliser for nearly a year now and I leave the bottles in for a few hours generally and then they sit on the side for up to 24hrs. According to MAM they stay sterilised for up to 48hrs. I've never had an issue.
