I am really tired so I hope this makes sense...

My DS is 21 weeks old. He is demand fed and currently teething his first 2 teeth. He has always been a frequent feeder in no routine despite my best efforts. Today he has been feeding constantly I think because of the teeth. I need to know should I be trying to get him to space out his feeds? At night he is feeding 3 or 4 times and I am exhausted. I have 2 other dcs who are sick. I will answer questions if this doesn't make sense/have another info.

21 weeks is about 5 months? He should be able to go around 4hrs between each feed - but he needs to learn to take a full feed rather than 'snack' and then be hungry again 2hrs later. Suggested feed times may be - 7am, 11am, 2:30/3pm and 6pm then wake up for a final feed at 10:30pm and cross fingers for the night.
You may have to bite the bullet and put off a feed for a while. I suggest starting your day at 7am regardless of what has happened in the night and don't feed again until 10:30/11:00am if you can help it at all. Call in reinforcements to support you as it won't be easy. But by 11am should take a really big feed and you are on your way.
Hope this is not too contraversial - just a suggestion
Good luck

I disagree Scoggins.
He is small and he is hungry and he is needy. Depriving a baby of his only source of food and main source of comfort is downright inhuman.

Charlie, you need to enlist the help of all around you to help you out.As for you,I would go to bed early with the baby in with you and get some sleep.

Hi, are you bf or ff?? Sorry not sure if you mentioned that? Babies sometimes feed little and often when they are on a growth spurt and this may be what is happening. He is very small and IMO 4 hrs is too long...if he gets really hungry he may take what is offered and then shout for more as he does not know when the next feed is coming! Just talking from my own experience!

Teething? Poor you...my dd is 9 months and no signs of any teeth....may have to look into dentures for her..lol....xx
