Best formula for preterm baby

Hi everyone, looking for some advice on formula!

My twins were born exactly a month early at 35+5. My son (very surprisingly) took to breastfeeding straight away and is now EBF. My daughter unfortunately spent a week in the NICU/SCBU due to breathing problems and despite being home for the past 3 weeks and persistently trying I cannot get her to breastfeed. I'm currently pumping 4 times a day and she is just having breastmilk.

My supply is really good but we're reaching a point where her demands are increasing and my yield is pretty static. Soon we'll have to supplement with formula and I was wondering if anyone could recommend which brand/type would be best for a preterm baby. She can spit up a bit and get gassy which I know will only be worse on formula so I would love to hear about other peoples experiences.
Thanks in advance!

If I remember rightly the formula the gp put my prem DD on was nutriprem. She did sometimes have problems with wind and there was some sort of comfort powder that I used to buy to add to the formula

They do ‘comfort’ and ‘anti reflux’ formula i would maybe look into them.

They also do anti reflux bottles which may help too

Congratulations! No advice on formula but just chipping in that maybe your yield is static if your pumping routine is static at 4 a day? If both babies were breastfeeding and demand was increasing they’d be on the breast more frequently and/for longer feeds so your demand would go up and likely supply (as you don’t seem to have had any problems with that). That said you are obv pretty busy with not one but two newborns so I don’t know if expressing more often would be more or less hassle than giving formula (though guess also have to factor in if baby ends up being more gassy on formula as you have mentioned). I have only bf singletons so feel free to ignore this obviously!

I've just looked it up and it's called carobel. I remember now that it's a thickening powder as nutriprem has quite a thin consistency and she used to bring it back up quite easily

Thanks everyone!

I probably should have said that they are now technically 39 weeks so I don't think she would need a specific premature one now. She had some formula in the NiCU before my supply came in and she just had standard aptimel.
@DeborahAlisonphillipa I know what you mean about pumping but even 4 times a day is a challenge. As well as the twins I have an 18 month old who's into everything! My son can cluster feed during the afternoon and I feel so guilty just putting the television on for my eldest son all the time so I can feed/pump.

Oh my! That sounds super busy.

Don't know about the prem bit but lots of MNers seem to like Hipp Organic for gassy babies.

All formulas have to adhere to the same nutritional standards but the companies use different ingredients to get that result.

On here recently there seem to be a few babies struggling with wind and Aptamil and Cow & Gate.

When DD was on neonatal they offered SMA or Aptamil. Nothing was ever said about one being better than the other. They recommended NUK bottles (from Argos or Amazon) and looked down upon Tommee Tippee bottles.

Hi everyone - I wanted to give an update in case someone stumbles across this thread!

We just decided to roll the dice and try her on the Aldi mamia one. I don't mind admitting cost had a lot to do with it.... anyway, she's getting on great with it! Drinks it as easily as breastmilk (she's still getting breast milk as well although she is so so hungry!) and isn't extra gassy or anything. Putting on weight great! I obviously overthought things a bit 😂

Thanks everyone for your input! Really appreciated
