Powdered formula making baby sick

I am combination feeding my 14 week old but I have a low supply and he is being to get frustrated when the milk doesn’t come as quick as out of a bottle so he is being to have more and more bottle feeds.

Until a few days ago he had been drinking ready made cow and Gate formula and only ever really occasionally spit up. We brought a perfect prep machine and changed to the powdered version as breastfeeding is becoming a struggle. However he has been so so sick today and has been so whingey and unsettled the last few days that I’m taking him back off the powdered formula as it doesn’t seem fair and doesn’t seem fair to keep switching brands etc.

Does anyone else have these issues with powdered milk? And does any one know why?

I had the same thing with C&G powder with my mix fed baby at a similar age. I don’t use a perfect prep though so might be slightly different. I think it was because the powder mixed quite foamy and this gave him more wind. In the end we switched to HIPP and he’s been much better since (and he’s now fully formula fed so has even more of it)
I’d maybe try a different brand?

I found C&G very foamy like PP. I’ve tried quite a few brands and found only SMA (although can cause constipation) and Hipp weren’t foamy.

How would you like to feed him, ideally? If your preference was to breastfeed a bit more and the formula is because of supply then I'd look into an ibclc like Lucy Ruddle who specialises in combination feeding to help get the balance to where you want it to be.
Sorry I don't know more about different formula milks so I can't be more helpful in that respect. Xx
