...can I just say thanks to you all for your advice and support on this board?

Tomorrow, 'still breastfed' DD turns one. If it wasn't for the information on here, I'd have given up in the early days of poor latch, terrible thrush in the nipples, weight loss (DD's that is ) etc. And I'm not sure I'd've expressed at work - I certainly wouldn't have had the confidence to ignore the comments from colleagues about how disgusting BF is past the magical six-month mark.

So...thanks all!

Apologies for self-indulgent thread. I've had a glass of red to start celebrating DD's birthday early...

Happy birthday to your DD and congratulations

Cheers, whomovedmychocolate. Your little girl looks lovely in the pics on your profile. Has she just turned one? If so, happy birthday to her!

Woohoo!! Congratulations and happy birthday to your dd.

(It's my birthday tomorrow too!)

Thank you oldest cat. She turned one on the 20th of last month. She's still nursing too, the little monkey!

TheOldestCat · 14/11/2007 21:07

Well, belated happy birthday to the little chocolatey one!

That's terrific Oldest.
Well done to you!!
The best way to return the favour is to put yourself forward as a support for other women struggling.
So pleased for you (and give your colleague/s a kick up the arse from me!)

TheOldestCat · 14/11/2007 21:17

Cheers, moondog!

Am helping a friend at work set up a group for new and expectant mums so we can share tips, offer practical advice - and just support each other really. We've got our first meeting on Friday so I'll make sure I recommend mumsnet...

Fantastic.
Mumsnet is a bloody godsend isn't it?
I wish I'd known about it through the hellish first weeks of BFing.
