At what stage did you start enjoying breastfeeding your LO?

After 3 months maybe? It got much easier at the 6 week mark.

newtb · 27/04/2021 19:10

Was very difficult up to 12-13 weeks, after that it was a breeze and I really enjoyed it.

I’m at week 12 and I can say I tolerate it now, hated it until around week 10 but DS had undiagnosed tongue tie until 7 weeks. Still don’t exactly enjoy it if I’m honest but I can manage a bit longer I think, doubt I’ll go past 6 months though.
But saying that we do mix feed and he has 2 bottles of formula a day, I think this is what’s made it more tolerable

Maybe after about a month or so

Zarinea · 29/04/2021 10:50

About a month in, after it stopped hurting.

16 months in now and I love it (most of the time).

When the baby got the hand of it and it was quick and stress free. DC1 around 6 weeks DC2 from day 1

12 weeks. He had a tongue tie cut at 10 weeks, it made the world of difference once he could latch on properly.

About eight weeks but I'm six weeks it felt like razor blades slicing me every time. I look back and can't believe I persevered. But by the eight week mark it was truly a nice experience. I got a miracle ointment from my GP around the 6 week mark. Apparently may have had a fungal problem that caused it to be so excruciating.

At about 6-8 weeks when my supply settled it all became easier. I would say I mainly enjoyed it when we got to the stage of me feeding DD2 down at bedtime while DH did battle with overtired toddler DD1. Grin

Bohoboo · 29/04/2021 22:55

Never unfortunately. I kept going for 6 months with DD1 and 3.5 months with DD2 in agony most feeds, mastitis, nipple thrush and I dreaded each feed. Had midwives and health visitors try to help and was super determined. The first formula feed I gave was so emotional - my baby could have milk without the agony for me - very mixed emotions. This was 13-11 years ago. In hindsight I wished that I'd been kinder to myself but felt the pressure to do the 'right thing' for my baby. I now know the right thing is to find something that's right for mum and baby.

From about a month to maybe 12 months. Especially when out and about, easy to pop out a boob!
I hate it now though. Still feeding her at bedtime and she's nearly two, I'm telling her it's "running out" so we don't feed to sleep or for naps now but it's time for it to stop, for me.

rainbowthoughts · 29/04/2021 23:03

I didn't. I'm autistic and it caused me huge sensory issues. I had to stop after about 3 weeks with my first and the others were FF from birth.

Chillychili · 01/05/2021 09:17

After about 8 weeks
