Late tongue tie fix?

Minor tongue tie in four week old baby, was offered snip at hospital but refused as formula feeding and they said no need if not BFing.
Now decided to mixed feed. He latches but little coming out, may be low milk supply and tongue tie causing this.

Can I get his tongue tie fixed? Or is it too late? Will the hospital do it or do I need to go private?

It's not too late to get it fixed. The NHS will do it, but be prepared to have to wait a while (not definitely but possibly). If you're not OK with the waiting time once you've asked about it, you can get it done privately and usually costs in the region of £135.

As for your supply, after four weeks of not breastfeeding, you supply will be low, but the good news is that you can re-establish your supply by putting your baby to the breast as often as possible and using a breast pump regularly too. It works on a supply and demand basis. The more you express or feed your baby, the more your supply will increase, little by little, day by day.

We got our sons cut at 7 weeks (midwife at birth said it was “minor” and I knew nothing about TT at the time so let it slide). So definitely not too late.
HV said she was happy to refer but could be a 3/4 week wait. We just went private in the end and a lady did it the same day we called.
