When is it concerning for breastfed baby's poo to be green?

Just that really, there's stuff on the Internet about that, but I'd like to get first hand views! Thanks

Ive had a day or 2 of green poo with my 9 week old. I read it can be a sign of too much foremilk so I did a day of sticking to the same boob for longer to slow down supply. So say any feeds between 9-12 from the left, between 12-3 on the right etc. Apparently that evens out supply a bit and gives them more of the fatty hind milk. It resolved itself by the end of the next day. But I believe it can be a sign of illness? You know your baby so if you’re worried ring your HV maybe?

@Piccalily19 thanks for your reply. I read about the foremilk hind milk imbalance, but by doing what you've described aren't you worried to reduce your supply? My LO is 6 weeks old and tends to have green poo, he's fine in every other way, content after feeds, gaining weight etc.. After posting this thread, I've tried to alternate with each breast every 1.30/2hours during the night feed. His poop had already turned yellow by the morning. But just this evening, he was getting frustrated as it seemed my supply from both breast weren't enough to satisfy him. So he was crying whilst trying to suckle, I'll get in touch with hv to see how she can help. Did you experience that?

I wouldn't worry about the colour if there are no other signs of illness. Certainly don't worry about foremilk/hindmilk, just feed on demand and let the baby fully empty the breast, offer the second one.
There is a growth spurt around 6 weeks so it can seem like they're not getting enough and they become fussy / cluster feeding. This boosts supply so let the baby go to the breast as much as they want. It typically happens in the evening and is nothing to worry about.

I worried about this endlessly with my second. He had consistently green poo, with no other symptoms. Gained weight fine, super efficient feeder. Happy as Larry. Eventually, I read an article by Jack Newman, I think it was, that said if no other symptoms, just stick on a pair of sunglasses. If there are other symptoms, obviously look into it further, but otherwise, try not to worry :)
