How much should baby weigh at 2 weeks review?

I know it'll vary according to baby's initial weight, but is there some guidelines/percentage increase I can refer to? Or any weight gain is fine as long as it's over the birth weight? Thanks

I think after the first 2 weeks they look to check baby has regained their birth weight and would be happy if anymore. Could be wrong though if someone wants to correct me!

They want to know baby has at least returned to birth weight. Some weight loss is to be expected. Mine took 3 weeks to regain.

Thanks for the replies! I've got the 2 weeks review tomorrow and feeling a bit nervous! Baby's been feeding well, good number of wet/dirty nappies, can't help but feel nervous though! I've been using a bathroom scale without/with baby a few times this morning lol

Don't be nervous. How do you feed them? As you've identified, they do lots of wet and dirty nappies. Are they settled when fed? Do they sleep every so often? You've got this. Now relax. X

@Notanotherhun thanks, I ebf and yes I think baby is content after feeds, and sleeps well too. I'll report back tomorrow xx

Awesome. Have a relatively nice night, as in... see the little one every two hours if your baby is the same as mine was. Grin

They'll let you know if there's any issue.
I can't remember with ds1 but with ds2 he lost 4.3% of his body weight then was 5oz over his birth weight at 6 days old then at 14 days old had gained another 7oz. He's breastfed and had a tongue tie for the first few weeks.
He was 8lb8oz at birth.

Just back from the clinic and baby has indeed gained weight! Now I can relax and continue what I'm doing. Although I was a bit surprised when the midwife said that, at night it's fine to let baby sleep 4-5 hours without a feed, which is what my LO would do if I didn't wake him up every 3 hours max. Any comments?

There's no need to wake a healthy baby who's gaining weight. I've never woken either of mine except to encourage lots of feeds during the day for a longer sleep at night.
Both of mine would have a long stretch of 4-5 hours at that age at the start of the night.
Ds2 is 3 months and will now sleep 9-11 hours without a feed.

You’re doing really well OP, relax!!
Your baby is gaining weight and sleeping well. That’s exactly what they should be doing at this age x
