Drop in supply after having nursing tea?!

Hi all
Was advised to have some nursing tea to increase my supply so I can get DD off formula top ups. Ever since starting the tea 4 days ago, I feel like my supply has dipped even further! I checked the ingredients and strangely one of the ingredients (caraway seeds) is sometimes used to manage over supply...so I'm guessing that's what's caused the dip. I've stopped having the tea...but will I get my already dwindling supply back??? Starting to panic a little.

Have you tried fenugreek tablets, they can up supply pretty fast, for me it took 24hrs.

What makes you think you have reduced supply? How old is your baby? The only way to increase supply is to feed more.

Have you tried power pumping? That can help to increase supply but it will take a few days to notice the increase.

@Booksandtea84 I tried this however my DD reacted quite badly to it- made her reflux worse.

@Thatwentbadly I am expressing a fraction of what I used to. DD is 6 months and getting angry at the boob very quickly and is now taking more formula

@Sairafina Yep definitely going go give power pumping a go!!! I'm desperate

Eat porridge, drink a lot of water. Rinse and repeat! I remember when I was trying to boost my supply going to Sainsbury's cafe with my newborn and ordering the full breakfast plus porridge. They did look at me as if I were a bit mad, but it worked!

The problem with nursing teas or multivitamin tablets is that some ingredients can help people and the same ingredients can cause a decrease in supply for other people, depending on the reason for their low supply. For example if you take one of the supplements that are thought to help increase supply by lowering blood sugar but don't actually have a problem with high blood sugar then it can have the opposite effect and cause a decrease.
