personally i think getting bf established at least giving birth is only a day or so long not weeks/months

breast feeding was definately harder for me. I had plenty of support giving birth and very little for breastfeeding. I was also told to put up with the pain of breastfeeding yet offered pain relief giving birth! With my second child I dreaded breastfeeding but had no concerns about giving birth.

I was lucky and both were pretty easy

But you can't mn while giving birth so I think that has the edge.

well, giving birth is kind of inescapable... theres not really an opt out option as you cant just leave em in there.

may be psychologically more difficult to espablish bf, if youre having problems, as there are many voices offereing the 'give-up, its easier' advice, which may well be offered well meaningingly, but in my case at least was just a lack of support at the end of the day. dp just couldnt see why i was persevering a he didnt understan it.

i bit his head off, explained anddid it anyway, and now he gets it.

I found establishing breast feeding far harder. I had a really quick home birth with no pain relief and plenty of skin to skin straight afterwards. but whilst the birth hurt it was manageable and had an end in sight where as bf was just excruciating for basically 2 months and the pain seemed to go on forever. I did eventually get the hang of it but was always plagued by blocked ducts and on off pain for the remainder of the time I bf(8 months).

I am 25weeks pg and totally not concerned about going down the home birth with no pain relief route again as I hope to, but bf on the other hand Is something I am expecting to have problems with.
