DD2 is 6 weeks old and breastfeeding is so much harder this time as I have oversupply in one breast and DD will only have one breast per feed)
I have tried to follow the usual advice from KellyMom and LLL, but it's not getting any better. I've been managing by only feeding from the right (normal) and expressing with a haaka the other side as she does so, 'just enough to feel comfortable'. But the trouble is this is often 2 ounces plus per feed, and supply isn't decreasing at all. If I express less or try and delay/skip a feed for that breast it becomes red, lumpy, hot and inflamed even before the next feed is due. Feeding from that breast is difficult because letdown is too aggressive until after this much milk has been removed, and DD is usually sick after only a few minutes.
Basically if I use any less milk than I am, I flirt with mastitis ... DD was having terrible trouble with wind but after not feeding her from the left breast this has mostly resolved.
Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve the cycle I'm in? I am fed up of not being able to leave the house - it's hard to feed discreetly with a haaka on the other breast!
I'm in a country that isn't the U.K. where we aren't in lockdown, and also the breastfeeding advice is absolutely shocking, so I'm asking here before I get a lactation consultant (even the most recommended/'best' lady wasn't useful for two of my friends).
