I quit breastfeeding 2 months ago but I can still see milk when I squeeze...my baby is currently in hospital with suspected UTI and she won’t eat food or drink any milk or water :( they haven’t put her on fluids as said her hydration levels were ok but I think they will if she doesn’t start drinking tomorrow...could I try feeding her or will there be hardly anything there? She’s 13 months

You could definitely try breastfeeding her. Even if she doesn't get much milk from you I'm sure the comfort would be helpful to her. What a horrible situation for you both! I hope she feels better soon.

If there is still milk there she will get some if you put her to breast. That will then signal your body to produce more

Yes, at 13 months it's likely your supply won't have completely dried up. However it does usually take 24-48 hours to stimulate production a bit as a minimum, so I wouldn't be expecting her to be pulled dramatically out of dehydration. However, it certainly won't do any harm and might bring her some comfort. Also if there is any milk there it might help :) So it's definitely worth a try.

Yes. Look up re-lactation. I did it. I’d stopped for 8 weeks, but my baby was younger.

Yes definitely, it's worth trying, hope your baby gets well soon.
