Which boob?

My son has recently started sleeping through the night (ish), which means that the even number of feeds has dropped to an odd number. I always feed from both breasts but do the same boob in the morning first then switch for each feed.

With an odd number of feeds now what do I do?! Carry on switching and get confused or do two in a row (night and morning) from the same side first, and potentially get mastitis or one big boob?

So does the

You won't get mastitis or one big boob Smile I do the same, I feed always from the same one side first in the morning as it's closest when I pull her out of the crib. I then switch throughout the day. But then you're doing an overnight sleep (or a good chunk of hours anyway) so both boobs are full so it doesn't massively matter as long as you feed off both!

Don't worry, it's only if they exclusively use one there's an issue

You can also use this as an opportunity to pump from the unused boob first thing. Build a freezer stash for any time away from him or if you get poorly and want a whole night off

I'm not really sure I get what you're asking but I wear a hairband on my wrist and start a feed on that side then switch it to the other wrist. Ds often only has one boob and sometimes goes 8 hours overnight so it can be 10 hours before the other boob is 'used' and I'm fine. Supply seems to have settled a couple of weeks ago (ds is almost 8 weeks)
