Exercise and Breast Feeding what happens with lactic acid

I exercised all the my pregnancy and have been exercising post natally. I have always used a heart rate monitor and do my best not to go anaerobic to try to prevent lactic acid production. I was just wondering what happens to my breast milk if I do produce lactic acid as I think I'm starting to see a correlation between my exercising after work (I still make it home for the pm bf) and dd not sleeping through.

just found this on the website which hercules posted re: increasing supply. everything you ever wanted to know about lactic acid...

Excellent thanks bundle. Will continue to monitor but maybe this isn't the cause of the random wake ups in the night.

how old is your baby?

7 Months - I've never had a problem with supply, started exercising at 4wks.

mine both had periods of really annoying waking for no apparent reason (on top of eg teething, colds etc). my dd2 had real separation anxiety at 8 mths and found it hard to get back to sleep once she woke in the night (sleep cycles run for about 45 mins and it's easier to be roused when the sleep is light, every 45 mins)

I know that there was a study showing that br'fed babies didn't care about lactic acid in mummy's milk, they still drank just as eagerly. But they were only looking at whether baby still drank it, still drank as much. I never noticed mine sleeping different on days when I went jogging (& I always, happily, went aerobic, in pregnancy too).

Zebra I go aerobic just not anaerobic (which produces more lactic acid). As I race home I was also wondering if it could be the salt on my skin too which upsets her later. No problem taking the milk mind you. I made an effort to wash off sweat last week and she slept much better so will continue trying to take it down a notch and get rid of excess salt and hopefully continue with some brill nights.
Thanks for the advice.
