Feeding worse after tongue tie division?

Could anyone shed some light or words of hope?
My baby is 9 weeks, combi fed, and we waited a long time for his TT division. We had a text from the hosp earlier this week to say it was cancelled and so we had it done privately on Wednesday.
His feeding has become so much worse! Constant fussing and crying be it bottle or boob. Last night he was awake every 45mins or so. He also keeps trying to nipple field, so I'm reattaching him constantly which upsets him.
In the consultation they told me that it would not be a magic fix, but I didn't expect things to be so much worse- prior to the procedure he was a very content little thing but now he's just crying constantly and I feel I've made a huge mistake.

Who performed the procedure? Can you ring them for advice?
Try giving LO some calpol 30 mins before a feed & see if that makes any difference.

They have to essentially learn a new way to latch post tongue tie snip, different from what they've been used to. From what I understand, the older they are when it's addressed, the longer it can take to solve issues. My DS had the tongue tie corrected v young though.

So it was only done on Wednesday? It's only Friday now. This is normal.

Babe has to re learn how to feed, it will feel so different for them now it has been cut. I know it's frustrating but it just takes a little time and patience. Continue with good positioning and attachment. Best wishes.

Try lots of laid back feeding, it will help with a deeper latch.

I'm just going to echo the things said above. Both my DC had tt division, although they were younger that yours. Feeding didn't immediately become easy after the procedure. I went back to the clinic 2 weeks after my dd had hers as I was convinced it hadn't worked, but all was fine and within a few days it started feel ok. Its still early days, call and speak to clinic about what to expect and when they would expect to see an improvement.

I had my baby’s tongue tie cut for the second time at 9 weeks and had a horrendous few days. I was in a total panic thinking I’d completely broken breastfeeding. She did get back to where she’d been before after about 48 hours but didn’t actually improve which was pretty upsetting. She’s now 11 weeks and I think it may have reattached again 😭. Keep doing the exercises and have faith.
