You won't be able to re-read it cos I had to have my posts deleted a while ago (sorry)

but do you remember my ever-so controversial thread on the problems I had with long-term breast-feeding?

Well I just wanted to let you know ...

6 months and still going strong

Well done Twiglett - I remember your thread

pupuce · 26/10/2004 10:53

So do I.... well done... are you enjoying it?

Twiglett · 26/10/2004 10:55

this wasn't meant as a well done me .. though thank you

it was meant as a thank you to all those who stuck with a long and heated debate
(ahh those were the days weren't they? )

whoever said one day at a time was right

I am enjoying it, but would like a decent night's sleep (am hoping that comes with weaning)

Well done for going one day at a time and keeping an open mind then

Pidge · 26/10/2004 11:09

Well done - that's a brilliant achievement. I found that thread really interesting (even though I fed my daughter to age 2, so fell into the 'opposition camp' ).

hercules · 26/10/2004 11:22

Well done! Now aim for 2 years!

XenaWP · 26/10/2004 11:29

slight hi-jack, but if you do it for 2 years, how many bfs is that a day?

Pidge · 26/10/2004 11:32

XenaWP - I did three feeds till my dd was about 16 months. Then two till 20 months, then just one on the morning till she lost interest of her own accord. (No night-time feeds after 5.5 months, but I was very lucky on that score!)

XenaWP · 26/10/2004 11:37

don't know if i could quite do that, but onward & upwards!
...
1 day at a time...

hercules · 26/10/2004 11:39

One or two.

Pidge · 26/10/2004 11:40

XWP - you know everyone does these things differently, and every baby is different. Whatever you're happy with is the way forward. And some kids want fewer feeds than my dd did (some want more of course!), and some wean themselves naturally earlier than age 2, some later than age 2. I just took the view that I would take each day as it came, and I enjoyed the feeding, and it just went from there.

After 10 or 12 months or so I was down to 2 feeds (morning and evening).... they are very quick feeds and quite nice as it is special time between mummy and chil

Tiktok... long bad thread for Twiglett where people who weren't regular posters and knew her in RL started arguing with her....

tiktok · 26/10/2004 12:06

thanks, pupuce......eeeek, what a thing to happen.

prettycandles · 26/10/2004 13:29

The way you were treated on that thread made me angry - I'm so very glad that you've come back and posted on the same subject. Good for you Twiglett!

suedonim · 26/10/2004 15:57

Great news, Twiglett! I'd agree with the day-by-day comment. I never even bothered to count how many feeds mine had a day as they got older, it was different each time according to circumstances.

Twiglett · 26/10/2004 16:00

I think I'm naturally thick-skinned PC ... I didn't get bothered by the more outrageous posts and it helped me sort things out in my head

go Twiggy! (Big whoops from across the Atlantic )

edam · 26/10/2004 22:40

Yay! Very happy for you and for Twoglett.
