11mth DD not interested in milk

My DD is now having one large breastfeed each day in the morning.

We have just weaned her off the evening feed so that DH can put her to bed.

She drinks 1cm of cows milk from a cup in the afternoon and the same in the evening. She doesnt seem interested in milk tbh.

I make sure she gets yoghurt & cheese through the day and she has a very varied diet.

Is it usual for babies to just not be that into milk? My first DD used to guzzle a 9oz cup morning, afternoon and night so I'm a bit surprised to have a baby not keen.

FGS, DD2 was allergic to lactose as a baby, and didn't drink any milk at all during the day when I was at work. She would have a BF in the morning, and then just drink water for the rest of the day. I did give her a BF at night, but that was it.

Have you tried her on formula at night?

Meant to say, it sounds like she's getting calcium in her diet. Maybe just increase that, if you're worried.

Hi Funky,

I really wouldn't worry about her but wouldn't bother with formula either. Stick with the morning feed and keep trying her with the cow's milk. Does she have it warm as sometimes this helps.

DD2 still has a bfed morning and bedtime and has only just started being interested in a decent amount of milk at 18 months - they get by! Her diet sounds full of calcium too.

Know what you mean though as DD1 lives on milk (literally bar the odd baked bean) and she is 3.5.

2 of mine gave up milk at 11 months, just made sure the rest of their diet was balanced. I got one of them back onto it at 18 months by giving her very weak chocolate milk.

Thanks.

Wont touch formula at all. Spits it out with venom

I have tried cows milk warm and cold and room temp and it doesnt seem to make much difference. Although she happily has it on weetabix in the morning.

my other one who gave up milk at 11 months drinks the dregs from her cereal bowl.....at least you'll never have the opposite prolem of telling your 2 year old the bottle have gone and having them crying for it - and looking at a sippy cup like it is the devil's work!
