Pumping to increase supply

Hi all,

I have a bf baby who is very fussy at the breast- we are just about to laser for the second time his PTT and I am worried about milk supply- as he is fussy as soon as the initial letdown comes and finishes.

If I was wanting to increase supply by pumping: what's the best way to do it?

Pumping for 15 min after feeds?

Or

Pumping the opposite side while he feeds from the other? He usually only takes one side- so I could facilitate this.

What's your experiences?

Thanks in advance. Smile

Either. Whatever suits you best.

Any milk removal will tell your body to make more milk so either should do the job. Are you sure your concerns are justified though - How old is he and how is his weight gain?

Thank you both for your reply
He is 6.5 months old now. And I’m worried about late onset low milk supply. He has been gaining weight, but has slowed in the last month or so. I could be wrong, but I have this in mind!

One more q! If pumping, but no milk is coming out- will the stimulation/act of pumping help to increase still?
