Did anyone not want to breastfeed?

Hi all...just wanting to ask peoples opinions about this. Did anyone just not want to breastfeed? I just cannot see this being something I would want to do. My older sisters never breastfed (so my thoughts may have come from them?)
I am aware that breastfeeding is best for your child however I do not want to feel pressured into doing so? Also, if you did not breastfeed, what then happens to your milk?

It still comes in, although probably not as much as you are not stimulating it. It can still need to be expressed by hand to relieve pressure : hot and cold packs needed etc. It will eventually dry up though but can take a while. Can I suggest a middle ground though, I have never liked the idea of breastfeeding out in public and had terrible problems getting my baby to latch, plus the anxiety of not knowing how much she’d had. I ended up deciding to combi feed. They tell you to do this you should pump 10 times a day but I’ve only ever done 4 times and this helped me feed expressed milk by bottle. About 50 percent of her milk was breast milk. Have recently cut down slightly as going back to work so only pump when wake up and when go to bed.

I didn't really fancy the idea to be honest. But the first time I held DD after my c-section, I just felt a weird compulsion to put her to my breast. It worked for us, and she's now EBF eleven weeks later.

Give it a try. If you don't like it, stop!

I had real problems breast feeding DC1 , hated it and gave up. I didn’t expect to breast fed DC2 but I decided to give her colostrum and she was so easy to feed and breast feeding so obviously made her happy that I continued and fed her for 13 months until she self weaned. So I’d advise giving it a go and seeing whether you want to go on.

I used formula from day one. It was easy and DH and family had a chance to give bottles. Everyone had a lovely bond with DC’s and you can share the night feeds so you aren’t always sleep deprived. Get a perfect prep machine.
Whichever method of feeding you decide on you will have a healthy baby. Do whatever makes you happier.

I wanted to, but like most of the women in my family, had no milk! It just never came in.

Found it a bit of a battle though as all midwives and my gp kept banging on about was it's best for baby! I explained each time that I had no milk and they didn't believe me. It was quite hard getting them to listen to me.

I didn't.

Was pressured into it twice by HCP and family. Turned out I produced next to no milk a anyway.
First four weeks of my first two babies lives were miserable. They lost too much weight and were starving. I almost bankrupted myself with lactation consultants and supplements for something I wasn't fussed about.

My third is 3 months old. I stood my ground this time and FF from birth.

@loutypips snap.

This time I was told milk would come in and I'd be uncomfortable. Not a drop. My breast didn't hurt. There was no milk.

@WankPuffins I tried expressing and having baby latch on, but not a single drop. My mum and grandmother had the same.
