EBM question - is it ok to express a load and then use it gradually over next few months?

I am considering hiring a hospital grade pump for a month or so to express and store a load of milk for my 6 week old bf baby to then use for occasional feeds for nights out, daddy feeds etc or possibly one botttle feed of ebm per day as dp likes to do a feed. I found expressing with manual or home electric pumps a real faff last time, very time consuming and didnt get much out. Wheras the hospital grade one I used in the hospital was much better.

Is milk expressed at say 6-8 weeks still going to be suitable/appropriate for say a 3 / 4 month old? I seem to remember something about your milk supply changing to meet the needs of the growing baby. How quickly will it become out of date / unsuitable? Would it matter for max one feed a day?

I'd read that as well....

someone more knowledgeable will be along soon, but if it's only for the occasional night out, can you not pump with the hand pump over the few dyas before hand and collect a reasonable amount? you can store it in the fridge for up to a week.

Frozen milk is good for 6 months but does need to be in a deep freeze that is not opened regularly (like a chest freezer).

Great info here: www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html

in theory yes that would be better i know but i just know from last time that i found doing that the last straw with regards to tiredness/lack of time/organisation and would be worse this time with a toddler as well (impossible even!). i got quite stressed out about it last time and eventually ds1 had one carton of ff a day as well as bf from 6 months. I am just wondering if i can avoid that this time - am looking for quick fixes basically and just think it would be nice to know i had a good supply in the freezer for nights out at least without getting stressed out for days before the event about getting enough milk ready.

IIRC
Yes, bm does change as your baby grows (and has relevant antibodies etc), but ebm from any time is still fine, it's just not quite as fantastic!
