hunker - you are needed on another b/feeding thread.

theUrbanDevil · 11/10/2007 21:42

bummer - ds is 9mo now. oh well, maybe next time. i don't think my hospital accepts it anyway, from what my mw was saying (although she occasionally talked a load of shite!)

theUrbanDevil · 11/10/2007 21:43

ps: SaintJude, are you SaintGeorge in a different outfit?

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 11/10/2007 21:44

Woah, I suppose it's her milk, she can do what she wants, but I wouldnt feel happy doing it myself. I wanted to donate milk with DS but the hospital I was at wouldnt take it, thankfully I have moved to oxford now and the John Radcliffe do. So I shall definitely be donating this time around, I find it quite sad that someone either a)needs the money that badly that they are selling breast milk or b)is that money oreintated that they dont think donating it would be a better option.

hunkermunker · 11/10/2007 21:44

Where, Judy?

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 11/10/2007 21:45

UrbanDevil, if you mean northampton, no they dont My ex MIL did it when her kids were small and suggested it to me when I fed DS, but I called and they didnt have anything like it.

theUrbanDevil · 11/10/2007 21:50

I started donating after DS was 12 months and they were still interested. They used my blood test results from pregnancy.

nappyaddict · 12/10/2007 01:02

that's disgusting. why can't she donate like normal people.

susiecutie · 12/10/2007 01:14

i dont like the idea of someone selling their milk in this way... its fantastic to do through hospital, as the doners are screened and the milk is pasterized so no probs with passing on anything nasty...

mindalina · 12/10/2007 01:16

But who on earth would buy breastmilk from a stranger on the internet?

Kaloo20 · 12/10/2007 01:16

After watching that programme tonight that testing for toxins in breastmilk, I'd be worried

Also think it should be donated, not sold on gumtree

Spiderhammer · 12/10/2007 01:34

I'm trying to get them to cover this on BBC London 94.9 tomorrow.

I've mentioned MN so fingers crossed.

maygirl · 12/10/2007 01:43

They didn't mention cows are exposed to environmental toxins too, as well as antibiotics.

hunkermunker · 12/10/2007 08:33

Kaloo, I saw that and thought of MN when I did. No mention of formula, as SM said, containing nasties as well

hunkermunker · 12/10/2007 08:34

Sorry, as MG said.

SM that sounds interesting.

Vanessa talked about this all morning but I missed it. Did anyone hear it?
MN was mentioned in the bulletins too.
