EBF 4 month old

Hi

My daughter is almost 4 months old and EBF. Up until the last few weeks she has been a really happy and easygoing baby. However she’s recently started waking up multiple times in the night as well as screaming all day and refusing naps unless held. The same thing happened with my two other daughters so I switched to formula at this age and they seemed to change overnight.

Does this mean my milk supply is low? I’d really like to keep breastfeeding but I’m worried she’s not getting enough and that’s why she’s so miserable. Does anyone have any tips or advice to help? I’m exhausted and just want my happy baby back again!

Thanks

I think it sounds more like the four month sleep regression. My baby was properly miserable around 4 months, I found myself counting down to naps. That sounds mean, but it was a phase and it passed, at 6m he’s now the happiest little boy. My only advice would be to do whatever you can to get the naps in - drive, buggy, carrier, rocking - whatever works
Most of the time your body will make what your baby needs, though I know a lot of people will try and tell you they’re hungry. It used to drive me up the wall.

I would second the 4 month sleep regression

Sleep regression

Sleep regression. Has absolutely
Nothing to do with milk levels.
If baby is gaining weight and producing wet / dirty nappies that is the only indication of milk quantity you need.
