Increasing supply

Hi all
My 2 week old had a pretty significant tongue tie when she was born so we fell a bit behind with BFing and I am now trying to get my milk supply to catch up. I do give her formula now and then but have been gradually cutting this down and she hasn't had any since yesterday afternoon.

I have been doing skin to skin and just nursing her on demand (almost every 90 mins) for the last couple of days and have definitely noticed that I am producing more milk! I just have a couple of questions..

1- roughly how long would it take for my supply to fully catch up?

2- once caught up, will DD then go longer between feeds due to being fuller and more satisfied?

I am absolutely shattered physically but in good spirits...I just need someone to reassure me that this will get easier and the crazily frequent feeds are only temporary until I can EBF again.

You're doing the right thing already, the best thing for increasing supply by feeding on demand and doing it lots! Your supply is built up in these first few weeks which is incredibly tough but it WILL get easier. Your baby will become much more proficient at feeding over time so feeds will be shorter in length and less often. For now though, you've got a few weeks of putting in the 'building blocks' as it were. If they're your first, get comfy on the sofa and feed, feed, feed. Tea and hobnobs are your friend. Grin
