How do you dry baby bottles?

Hi, I'm expecting my first baby in Feb 21and have been reading up on sterilising baby bottles...my question is how do i dry them afterwards for storage so they stay sterile? Confused

This is probably a really stupid question, but i just can't get my head around the information online as it all varies. Blush

My thoughts are, sterilise the bottles (going to use cold water method to start with as seemed the easiest and least expensive), once they have been in the solution for the recommended time, remove the bottles etc and put on a bottle drying rack until dry. Then assemble and store?

Or do i just leave everything in the solution for up to 24 hours and only remove when i want to use a bottle, so i would shake out excess water and just fill with milk straight away? - If this is correct what do you do when you aren't at home and need to take bottles with you for a day trip?

Thanks for your help! Smile

I just kept all mine in the steriliser until I needed one and then filled with milk and didn't dry x

I would shake the solution out and assemble them. Maybe dry the outside of the plastic bottle with clean kitchen roll

This. Otherwise assemble straight out of the Milton and keep the lid closed.

Don’t use anything to dry them other than air as then they’re not sterile!

They don’t need to remain sterile. You sterilise them to kill off any remaining bacteria from the milk that might have been left.

If you are using formula, you make it up at a certain temperature to kill any bacteria in the powder. You don’t need to worry about breast milk in a bottle in the same way.

-Soak in Milton or whatever for required time
-Dry on drying rack
-Assemble and store until needed

Repeat so many fucking times you'll be able to do it with your eyes closed.

Just assemble them after. Also just a heads up if you're using Milton cold water method, leaving them in the cold water until use like some have suggested does keep them sterile, but it can turn the teeths cloudy and can't be undone. I've learnt this the hard way.

We use a microwave steriliser and just leave the bottles in the steriliser till ready to use. We don't dry them. We also use ready made formula in smaller bottles as it's easier.
