Can't complain at that Robin-you lucky thing- that's perfect!

Sounds like your DC has got the old body clock sorted nice & early, long may it last!!

(warning it may all go to pot when teething starts enjoy the rest now )

skidaddle · 05/10/2007 14:57

think dd was about 5 months or so before her naps were predictable. before that she just catnapped for 20 mins or so throughout the day. But 10.30-8 is fantastic, be grateful!!

lazyemma · 05/10/2007 15:01

Since about 12 weeks or thereabouts, my daughter has had three naps a day. Now she's 5 1/2 months, she usually has one nap of up to 2 hours, and two other naps of about half an hour each.

She now sleeps between about 8 or 9pm till about 7 or 8am - sometimes she'll wake at 6am but is quite happy gurgling away in her cot until I can manage to heave my sorry carcass out of bed at a more reasonable time.

robinredbreast · 05/10/2007 15:02

thats what i thought
others have told me its too late for her to be going to bed
but we all gt a good nights sleep so im just going to ignore them

Robin there's always SOMEONE telling you you're doing summat "wrong"

I got PND through worrying about doing the "right" thing till I realised that if I followed my instincts, used the bits of advice that fitted us & ignored the rest I'd be Ok. Obvious now but at te time I struggled.

As long as your angel is happy then you will be too & who gives a flying wotsit aout the time....they're probably only jealous!!!

robinredbreast · 05/10/2007 15:23

Not bad- mine are 12 & 10 now but had a rough time after both of them.

Strangely enough about the time I was weaning them -about 4-6 months so maybe my hormone levels were cock-eyed & it triggered something?

I always wanted to have a number 3 as I'd discovered SO much about myself & my DD's (both TOTALLY different.. so different things worked for both) but it never happened for a variety of reasons.

robinredbreast · 05/10/2007 15:44

what sort of things did you find didnt help you ?

the number 1 thing that bugs me is my mum
take last week for example dd was crying i said oh she needs a fed pass her hear
mum goes i dont think so !
i think she needs a nap and put hr in her pram when she was already crying....dd then started crying louder so i pick her up and fed her and then dd was fine

dont know who the hell she thinks she is telling me what to do with my baby !!

my sil has got post natal depression [i think partly due to my mum, shes always telling her what to do]
what ways can i support my sil more
we get on v well

sorry to hear number three didnt happen,is it something that may still happen in the future or is it ruled out now

OP posts:
robinredbreast · 05/10/2007 15:46

yes maybe there is a hormonal link
i know i went crazy when my milk came in !!
i actually suffered a flashback to the birth something that has never happened to me in my life before

Mine sounds pretty much like yours, robin. 13 weeks and she also naps here and there, 15-40 mins each probably 4 or 5 times a day. Then sleeps through from 10 or 11pm to 8 or 9am. I feel very lucky!

Tutter · 05/10/2007 16:29

ds2 only 11 weeks but catnaps between all feeds

anything from only 20ish mins to an hour is he's snuggled up on someone

Tutter · 05/10/2007 16:29

ps and at 10:30 - 8

ds2 is 10pm to 3 or 4am

Hi again robin sorry away working this w/e so been PC-less wibble...

If your sister has PND get her to her GP's to see if she needs some short-term AD's they really helped me.That & also my GP telling me I WASN'T a crap mother & how normal all my mixed-up feelings were. Also maybe you both need to form a united front against your mother & tell her firmly over a cuppa that although you both welcome her help & advice(even if you don't!!)that you both want to bring YOUR babies up YOUR way without being made that you are "wrong" the whole time. My mum was fabulous but I know she had to bite her lip a few times as I blundered into motherhood but I learnt myself what worked & what didn't & she was great with advice when I DID want it! My MIL on the other hand.........well that's another thread!!

pulapula · 09/10/2007 21:03

Robin,

My 15 week old sleeps 7.15-7.15 at night, with dreamfeed at 10.45pm, and has 2 naps of usually 2 hours at around 9am and 1pm. But that's because i like routine and he seems to too. I don't think it matters how many naps, as long as the total sleep is enough and they don't get overtired.
