Breastfeeding after tounge tie procedure?

Hi,
My 4 week old daughter had her tounge tie fixed yesterday, and i have already noticed a difference in the way she is feeding. It isn't as painful and when i pull back her bottom lip i can see her tongue is right under my nipple which i think is right? However, she doesn't seem to be any more efficient at extracting milk (staying at breast for long time, still being hungry, and I'm expressing more than i would expect). Will this improve over time? Also could it have anything to do with the fact my milk supply is low and the flow is probably not as fast as it ideally would be?
Thanks :)

It took my daughter about a month to latch on after having her tongue cut. Only cranial osteopathy worked in the end, but yes your milk supply would have been affected by an inefficient latch. You could try and get your supply back up but I wouldn't torture yourself, we ended up Co feeding. She'd take what she could from me then I'd top her up with formula and that worked really well.

A lactation ck sultabt told me a tongue tie is like learning to run a marathon with your shoes tied together, then someone cuts the laces - you have to learn how to run again. It may take some time - especially as the tongue tie was cut at 4 weeks. My daughters was cut at 6 days. Good luck xxx

You’re right.

Just asked a while for the tiny wee sucking muscles to catch up to their new capacity

Took about 3 weeks for us to settle in after a tt cut at 8 weeks.

Same. I noticed an instant difference but also a more gradual on.
