How many oz of expressed milk does your LO take in a feed?

I know all babies are different, but just curious. We finally got DD to take the bottle and she drank 3 oz in no time at all - I was quite surprised. It was a Browns bottle - is she likely to be taking more or less than from the breast?

How old is she NK? Was the milk in the bottle EBM or formula?
(If EBM bear in mind she will be much more efficient than a breast pump at getting it out of you!)

My dd was fed on expressed milk alone for 7 months - she started on an oz or so but after a week or two settled on 4oz and never went past it. She always bottle fed in a breastfeeding way - she was demand fed and like many breastfed babies fed little and often. My friends with formula fed babies were generally feeding then 7 or even 8oz bottles at a very young age.

The general rule is to halve your child's weigh and they should take the equivalent in oz, eg: weighing 8lbs equals a feed of 4oz. My LO is breastfed but I sometimes give him ebm or formula as a top up and even after 15 mins on the breast he can take 3oz from a bottle. Great for my 10pm last feed as it helps him sleep better I think 'til his 6am next feed. We've used D Brown's too but even though he's 6 weeks we use stage 2 teats as it more closely replicates the speed of breastmilk flow

Thanks all. DD is 3 months old and used to feed more or less hourly but has settled down to a slower rhythm in the past couple of weeks. She tends to have a very big feed at night. Think I was just surprised that she drank it so much quicker than it had taken to express.
